Testimonials

“I would never buy another breed of tractor”

Ray Croxford, a contractor from Baddaginnie near Benalla in Victoria,  purchased his third Landini tractor in March 2009.

Ray is so confident about the Landini brand that he purchased the new PowerMondial 115 without test-driving one or looking at any of the specifications.

His local Landini dealer, Geoff Cooper, was on his way to the launch of the new Power Mondial at the MCG in Melbourne when Ray rang him and said he wanted a Landini with at least 115hp.

Geoff was impressed with what he saw at the Launch and placed the order for the new PowerMondial before the launch was over.

After only three months of hard work and 600 hours already on the clock, Ray doesn’t get much time in his new pride and joy. “The boys don’t want to get out of the tractor. They love working in the spacious cab with its air suspended seat and climate control.”

When asked about the best features of the Landini, Ray said the fuel efficiency is amazing.

“In this day and age it is important to minimize cost to be competitive, and fuel plays a major part in this. But what is most important, especially for a contractor, is reliability".

“We need to get the job done efficiently and on time. The Landinis have never let us down and we do work them hard,” he said with a smile.

Ray bought his first Landini, a Vision 85, in 2005. He was so pleased with it, and with the service he received from Coopers, that after only four months he ordered his second Vision 85. All of Ray’s Landini tractors have TRIMA front-end loaders and the ‘big rubbers’ fitted.

Asked if he would ever consider another brand, Ray said, “I’d never buy another breed of tractor.”

Good report card for Landini

“we’re getting much better fuel efficiency than with other tractors”

John Mahoney of MRV Contractors in WA recently bought two new 85hp Landini Alpine tractors.  John and his wife, Maree, and their son, Andrew, specialise in viticulture for large and small vineyards in and around the Margaret River region.

“We’ve got six Gregoire harvesters and nine tractors,” John said.  “One of the tractors is a four-year-old 75hp Landini Advantage.  It’s a good little tractor.  Most of our clients have 2.5 to 4 metre row spacings, but a few have 2 metres and the Advantage can handle them.  When the time came to trade in some other machines, I took a look at the Landini range and I was impressed.  We bought two of the Alpine and I’ll probably get another one at the end of the harvest.”

Landini Alpine has a high flow hydraulic system with 2 hydraulic pumps, and electronic linkage control featuring a built-in shock absorber to minimise implement and tractor bounce.  With a minimum width of 1.6m, the Alpine can work vineyards with row spacings from 2.5 metres upwards.  The four-cylinder Perkins Tier 2 engine is well-known for high fuel efficiency, low noise and reduced emissions.

“I’ve had good reports from our operations manager, Max Henderson, about fuel economy with the Landinis.  He’s says we’re getting much better fuel efficiency than with other tractors.  They’re good for maintenance too, very easy to get into, with the rearward tilting bonnet.”

John says his operators use the tractors mainly with spray rigs, chaser trailers, machine pruners and trimmers.  ‘They are very comfortable machines, and easy to drive.  I’m a fairly recent convert to Landini and I’m very happy with them.  The next tractor will definitely be a Landini.”
